The School of Production Engineering and Management carries out significant research, both independently and in collaboration with Universities and Enterprises in Greece and abroad. The primary pursuit of the School is to develop applied research projects in collaboration with industry and enterprises, aiming at their improvement, growth, development and modernization. The School cooperation with Greek companies allow students to further develop their skills through practice, to study specific problems and to apply the knowledge and methods they have received; furthermore, via these contacts the School promote alumni employment opportunities. It participates in projects of the European Union, the General Secretariat for Research and Technology and the Ministry of Education, Culture and Sports (Greek acronym, ΕΠΕΑΚ), which benefit both students and teachers by exchanges among partner Universities and companies.

Additional Educational Services

  • The Drawing Room supports the course of Engineering Design with conventional teaching and computers use.
  • The Language Centre at the Technical University of Crete supports English and German language courses in the Schools of  Production Engineering & Management, Mineral Resources Engineering, Electronics  & Computer Engineering, and Environmental Engineering.  Since the opening of the Language Centre in 1997, our staff has continued to enhance and improve foreign language learning resources, providing an increasingly contemporary and effective methodology including fully interactive E-learning courses. Throughout the years, we have had the benefit of sharing our ideas and experiences with our international colleagues, welcoming visitors from the Helsinki University of Technology, The University of Louis Pasteur, the University of Iceland, and the University of Bonn among others. Our Centre has both organized and hosted several European events in cooperation with the European Centre for Modern Languages, the Council of Europe and the Greek Ministry of Education.
