Βorn in 1974, Dr. Konsolakis graduated the Department of Chemical Engineering of the University of Patras, Patra, Greece, in 1997 and obtained his Ph.D. in 2001 from the same Department. Part of his Ph.D studies was carried out in the Department of Chemistry, in Cambridge University, in the context of Greek-British Joint Research and Technology Programme. Then he served his military service in the Hellenic Air Force Academy for one and a half year as a chemist responsible for the analysis of aircraft fuels and lubricants. After that he worked for two years as a product manager in an industrial gases company.

In 2004, he joined the Department of Sciences of the Technical University of Crete as a Lecturer in the field “Surface Analysis & Catalysis”. From February 2010 to June 2013 he served as Assistant Professor in the same department. In June 2013 he moved to the School of Production Engineering and Management of the Technical University of Crete, where he is currently Full Professor.

He has been teaching since 2004 more than ten (10) undergraduate and five (5) postgraduate courses, involving among others: General Chemistry, Physical Chemistry, Thermodynamics, Materials Science & Technology, Environmental Science & Technology, Surface Science & Heterogeneous Catalysis, Surface and structural analysis, etc.  He also authored one book in the area of General chemistry and several lecture notes.

His research activities lie mainly in the areas of heterogeneous catalysis, materials science and surface science with particular emphasis on structure-property relationships in energy/environmental processes. His published work includes > 200  articles in peer-review international journals and conference proceedings. He is a member of the Editorial Board of > 10 international journals, serving also as a regular reviewer in > 100 scientific journals and several research funding agencies.
