A European research project aiming at the study of earthquake risk and cultural heritage protection started recently with ALMA Sistemi Srl as coordinator and participation, among others, of the Technical University of Crete and the Municipality of Chania.

The project ERA4CH addresses the development of a series of tools for damage assessment and long-term monitoring of historic centers by combining cutting-edge artificial intelligence algorithms, advanced remote sensing techniques, image processing, geotechnics and cadastral data sets with structural stability models in a GIS application.

The recent project meeting in the partner Municipality of Narni in Italy, March 23, discussed the work progress with the participation of professors Georgios Stavroulakis and Georgios Stavrakakis, ECE from TUC and Dr. Charalampos Litos from the Municipality of Chania. The next project meeting will be organized in Chania at the end of June.
