Cognitive Ergonomics & Industrial Safety (CEIS) Laboratory

The laboratory serves educational needs and focuses its research activities on the fields of Ergonomic Design of Workplaces, Ergonomics Design of Information Technology products, Computer-Based Training in Occupational Safety, Industrial Training in Fault Diagnosis, Stress Effects on Human Reliability and Decision Making, Human Error Modelling and Quantification, Simulation of Man-Machine systems, Emergency Response Planning, Accident Analysis, Industrial Risk Analysis, Control of Major-Accident Hazards (SEVESO), Occupational Risk Assessment, Safety Management Systems and Modeling of Organizational Factors.

Data Analysis and Forecasting Laboratory

The laboratory serves educational needs and focuses its research activities on the fields of Development of Forecasting models, Market Research, Quality Systems, Innovation Diffusion and Technology Transfer, Chaotic Modeling Theory and Applications, Tourist System (Data analysis and Forecasting) and Technological Forecasting.

Financial Engineering Laboratory

The laboratory serves educational needs and focuses its research activities in

  • The development of innovative methodological tools to address financial decision making problems.
  • The provision of specialized knowledge on topics related to financial analysis and investment planning.
  • The development of infrastructure required for conducting high-level research on financial risk management problems.

Within this framework, the research conducted in the Financial Engineering Laboratory involves the applications of multicriteria decision aid in financial management, the use of artificial intelligence techniques (expert systems, rough sets, neural networks, etc.) in financial risk assessment, as well as the design and development of multicriteria and knowledge-based decision support systems for financial decision making problems.

Management Systems Laboratory

The laboratory supports the educational needs and research in the fields of advanced Data Mining, Modeling of Organizational Entrepreneurial and Innovation Processes, Business Process Modeling, Logistics, Clinical Decision Support, Microarray Data analysis and Pathway Modeling.
