Brief CV
Dr Panagiotis Alevras is an assistant professor in the School of Production Engineering and Management, Technical University of Crete. He graduated with a Diploma in Mechanical Engineering from the National Technical University of Athens in 2011 and he was awarded a PhD in Mechanical Engineering from Heriot-Watt University in 2015, working on the stochastic response determination of offshore renewable energy systems. Between early 2016 and September 2018, Dr Alevras joined the Dynamics Research Group in Loughborough University working on EPSRC-funded projects, related to the development of self-powered wireless sensors for automotive applications, and later on, to novel vibration absorbers for automotive powertrains. He spent summer 2017 as a Visiting Researcher in the Linear and Nonlinear Dynamics and Vibrations Laboratory of the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign (USA) and, in October 2018, he joined the Department of Mechanical Engineering in the University of Birmingham as a Lecturer. Dr Alevras has participated in national and European research projects as Experienced Researcher and Co-Investigator, he is the author of over 20 journal publications (h-index 14) and 30 conference proceedings papers and he has acted as an evaluator for various funding agencies, including the ERC.
