The research activities of the School of Production Engineering and Management are fully aligned with the strategic research goals of the Technical University of Crete, which focus on the framework and the basic principles of sustainable development. In this context, the School is strongly focused on conducting high-level research in cooperation with universities, research institutions, organizations, and business entities in Greece and abroad. The School seeks to promote applied research in state-of-the-art technologies that cover all areas of modern production systems.

The research conducted at the School, meets the current and future trends in the field of production engineering and management, adopting an interdisciplinary approach that aims towards the establishment of a research excellence framework.
