Brief CV
Angelos Kostis is an Assistant Professor of Technology Management at the School of Production Engineering and Management of the Technical University of Crete. He received his Ph.D. in Business Administration from Umeå University, Sweden, in 2020. From 2020 to 2022, he was a Kempe Postdoctoral Fellow and an active member of the AI Business Lab at the Swedish Center for Digital Innovation (SCDI). From 2022 onwards, he served as Associate Professor at Umeå University, while also (2023-2025) conducting postdoctoral research at Stanford University (USA) as a Wallander Postdoctoral Fellow. He has secured significant competitive funding from various foundations and agencies, as principal investigator, co-investigator, and fellow. His research has been published in leading international journals in Organization & Management Studies, and Information Systems, including MIS Quarterly, Organization Studies, Journal of Management Studies, Journal of Management Information Systems, California Management Review, Industrial Marketing Management, Technological Forecasting and Social Change, and European Management Journal. He serves as Associate Editor for leading international Information Systems conferences (ICIS, ECIS) and as a reviewer for related scientific journals. He has held research visits at several universities, including Stanford University (SCANCOR, 2021-2022). His research has been recognized with awards including the Oscar Sillén Award for the best Doctoral Dissertation in Business Administration in Sweden for 2020, the USBE Scientific Research Award (2025), the IEEE Transactions on Engineering Management Best Paper Award (2025), the Best Associate Editor Awards of the European Conference on Information Systems (ECIS, 2023 and 2024), and the European Journal of Information Systems (EJIS) Recognition of Outstanding Contribution in Reviewing (2025).

Research Interests
Angelos Kostis’s research focuses on the relational, work-related, and organizational implications of working with emerging digital technologies. Methodologically, his work draws primarily on qualitative and ethnographic approaches, unpacking the relations among technology, work, and organizing.
