Βorn in 1974, Dr. Konsolakis graduated the Department of Chemical Engineering of the University of Patras, Patra, Greece, in 1997 and obtained his PhD in 2001 from the same Department. Part of his PhD studies was carried out in the Department of Chemistry, in Cambridge University, on the framework of Greek-British Joint Research and Technology Programme. He served his military service in the Hellenic Air Force Academy for one and a half year as a chemist responsible for aircraft fuels and lubricants. Then he worked for two years as a product manager in an industrial gases company. In 2004, he joined the Department of Sciences of the Technical University of Crete as a Lecturer in the field "Surface Science & Catalysis". From February 2010 to June 2013 he served as Assistant Professor in the same department. In June 2013 he moved to the School of Production Engineering and Management of the Technical University of Crete, where he is currently Associate Professor. His research activities lie mainly in the areas of heterogeneous catalysis and surface science with particular emphasis on structure-activity relationship. His published work includes numerous articles in international peer - review journals and conference proceedings as well as 1 book in the area of applied chemistry. He is a member of the Editorial Board of several international journals. He also serves as a regular reviewer in numerous (>60) scientific journals and research funding agencies, while he is/was a member in the organizing and scientific committees of international and national conferences. He is/was the main researcher and/or coordinator in several research programs financially supported by GSRT and EU.
